Comfort

This is a photo of a dozing flamingo in which I deliberately removed the typical points of reference, such as eyes or beak, in an effort to cause the viewer to focus more on texture and form. I felt the softness of the feathers and the gentle curve of the wings and neck all evoke a sense of warmth, welcoming, and comfort. I simply wanted to lay my head down on this image and snooze.
