Baltimore City Hall and Courthouse East (Old Postal Service Building), Baltimore, Maryland

This composition shows contrasting styles between the highly ornamented Baltimore City Hall to the right, and the much more austere but massive looking Courthouse East to the left. Courthouse East was originally the United States Postal Service building and a federal courthouse and was built 1930-1932. The exterior is fairly simple with some ornamentation visible along the upper stories and windows. In contrast, the visible portion of Baltimore City Hall shows the highly ornamented dormers extending from the mansard roof.
